New Lodge Crops Up in Detroit, Oregon
Despite recession, developers choose to invest in Oregon’s rural communities
Stayton, Ore. 1 June 2010 --- Developer Doug DeGeorge has invested in completing his second hotel renovation in Oregon, this time in the popular recreation destination of Detroit, Oregon. The Lodge at Detroit Lake is a modern, craftsman-style lodge that opens to the public this month. The facility is at 175 Detroit Ave., right off the main drag in town. This project is owned and operated by DeGeorge of Carmel, CA and Frank Guistiani of Dallas, TX, and will open to the public near the end of June, 2010.
“Detroit and its surrounding communities in the North Santiam Canyon are popular recreation destinations,” says Executive Director Nicole Miller. “The area has long been in need of additional quality lodging options and we are thrilled to be able to refer visitors to this classy new lodge.”
Reservations are available starting mid-June for . Rooms range in price from $79 to $199, depending on room size, amenities, and seasonal rates or specials. This new facility is near , , , and the .
Each room in the lodge offers a full kitchenette, flat screen TV, jetted tub, fireplace and WiFi Internet access. “The Lodge at Detroit Lake has turned out more beautiful than we ever expected. On the east side of the property, we completely rebuilt from the ground up eight luxurious, modern lodge rooms. On the west side, we are currently refreshing another five rooms, upgrading the façade in this section and updating all of the interior spaces,” says DeGeorge.
DeGeorge is known most recently for his remarkable renovation of the in historic downtown Silverton, Oregon. Working with local architect Victor Madge, the two completed what locals now refer to as the "landmark of downtown."
